Taking a multi-disciplinary approach, this module will provide students with an in-depth understanding of different theoretical conceptualizations of creativity, how it can be measured empirically and the extent to which this research can inform practices in areas such as education, business and mental health. It will draw on research from various different disciplines within psychology, covering areas such as neuroscience, social, developmental and cognitive psychology and creative arts. By exploring evolutionary foundations and creativity research in non-humans, cognitive processes underlying creativity and creativity as a strategy for fostering resiliency it will also highlight links to key focal areas and research strengths within the School of Psychology.
