This module is designed to provide students with an introduction into the variety of ways that genetics and genomics have been applied in biotechnology and functional genomics. The module covers a variety of topics including biotechnology, protein expression, microarrays, proteomics, systems biology, genome projects (assembly. annotation and comparison) and the identification and functional characterisation of non-coding sequences in vertebrate genomes
