Situated in south-eastern China, near the famous Yangtze River, Nanchang is the capital of Jiangxi Province and has a population of around 5 million. The university has over 70,000 undergraduate students and 12,000 postgraduates on five campuses. The joint programme with QMUL is taught at the university's main campus, Qian-Hu, an attractively landscaped 300-hectare campus built in 2005.
Typically, lectures start at 8am each weekday. Lecture recording is standard practice, and you can expect high-standard AV equipment in most lecture halls. Life on campus is buzzing – students and staff will experience varied and vibrant food cultures and a great nightlife. Nanchang itself is off the beaten tourist track, but is still a sizeable city with a rich history and culture, and offers an opportunity to have unfettered access to authentic Chinese faculty life.
