Course structure

The modules listed below for the Biomedical Sciences BSc are based upon both the Queen Mary University of London Biomedical Sciences programme and the current Nanchang University preclinical curriculum. Modules are assigned to QMUL and NCU for delivery. Where QMUL is responsible for modules it will be responsible for the delivery of lectures and 'non-lecture/discussion' teaching, and responsible for the design and supervision of the laboratory based practical teaching.

Students on the Joint programme are also awarded a degree in Clinical Biomedicine, with the clinical teaching taking place mainly in year 4.

The credits listed for each module are based upon the NCU credit system, which differs from the QMUL/UK system. Most modules are 5.5 credits which equals 15 credits at QMUL.

The students will take additional modules that are compulsory (mainly military training and political courses), but these will not be included when considering the Queen Mary University of London degree. It has been agreed that all QMUL modules will be approved via QMUL quality assurance procedures, and all NCU modules via NCU quality assurance procedures, as is the case for other TNE partnership programmes.
