Course structure

The modules listed below for the Biomedical Sciences BSc are based upon both the QMUL Biomedical Sciences programme and the current Nanchang preclinical curriculum. Modules are assigned to QMUL and Nanchang for delivery. Where QMUL is responsible for modules it will be responsible for the delivery of lectures and 'non-lecture/discussion' teaching, and responsible for the design and supervision of the laboratory based practical teaching.

Students on the Joint programme are also awarded a degree in Clinical Biomedicine, with the clinical teaching taking place mainly in semesters 7 and 8.

The credits listed for each module are based upon the Nanchang credit system, which differs from the QMUL/UK system. Most modules are 5.5 credits which equals 15 credits at QMUL.

The students will take additional modules that are compulsory (mainly military training and political courses), but these will not be included when considering the QMUL degree. It has been agreed that all QMUL modules will be approved via QMUL quality assurance procedures, and all Nanchang modules via their quality assurance procedures, as is the case for BUPT programmes.
