Project title: Innovative DNA-Based asymmetric catalysis

Summary: The programmability of nucleic acids offers a convenient framework to design self-assemblies that are capable of translating the chirality of its double helix through the hybridization of non-chiral ligands. The dynamic character and high level of cooperativity in oligonucleotide auto-organization yields stable duplexes that can still exchange through strand displacement while retaining their helicoidal information. Over the past decade, DNA-based asymmetric catalysis has evolved to become a particularly attractive tool. The field is however still in its infancy. In this project, we ambition through a careful design of DNA/ligand systems to develop new anchorage strategies and new synthetic applications and thus extend the scope of DNA-based asymmetric catalysis.
