Profile

Project title: Characterisation of the mechano-chemical relationship between actin and microtubule cytoskeletons and the active motion of cytoplasmic components

Summary: The aim of our research is to investigate the links between developmental biology and cell biophysics that determine the dynamic forces underlying vesicle movement and establishment of cell polarity and organisation. Cytoskeletal filaments are major players generating these forces. We aim to take a biophysical approach to understand the mechanisms by which cytoskeletons and their forces contribute to organelle and vesicle movement and establishment and maintenance of cellular organization.
