BSc Medical Genetics (C431)

Why do some diseases run in families? Why do patients respond differently to identical therapeutic treatments? How can gene therapy and stem cell technology be used to relieve human suffering? If you find yourself intrigued by these questions why not join our Medical Genetics programme? This programme combines human genetics with cellular biology to produce graduates with knowledge of how these can be used to diagnose and cure human disease.
Programme Structure
This programme is designed to interface medical topics such as tissue biology, immunology and human molecular biology with an understanding of inheritance patterns, population genetics/evolution, and molecular genetics.
