MSc Marine ecology and environmental management

Full time - C1S3
Part time - C1S4
In this unique programme, students spend the first 6 months of their year in London, studying at Queen Mary University of London, and the second 6 months at the Marine Biological Station at Millport on the Isle of Cumbrae in Scotland.
This enables students both to take advantage of London's academic and other facilities, and to experience being based at a working marine station.
The programme develops a strong interdisciplinary understanding in marine ecology and marine environmental management, providing structured training in research techniques and practical skills, including systematics (biodiversity), statistics, experimental design, monitoring, modelling, project planning, and scientific writing.
A wide range of projects will be available, both in London and at Millport, allowing students to pursue research interests and develop specialist skills.
Applicants should be aware that modules which contain a field course element incur extra costs (in particular the Coral reef monitoring and Management module taught in Egypt). Please refer to the MEEM module synopses [PDF 67 KB] and the reading list [PDF 54 KB]for further information.
