Fees for the academic session 2011/12

Home/EU fees - £4,900
Overseas fees - £13,250

Subject to certain terms and conditions, students assessed for overseas fees are usually offered a Science and Engineering scholarship.

Fieldwork costs and associated expenses
Some of the modules on this programme incur additional costs:

  • Required Module - Marine invertebrate zoology (approximately £120)
  • Optional Modules - Coral reef monitoring and management (approximately £1000–£1200 for module fees, flights and accommodation. Snorkelling equipment will also be required). Turtles seals whales and dolphins (approximately £500)

Funding opportunities
The programme is supported by a limited number of £2000 bursaries. Please refer to the Scholarships and bursaries page for further information.

Overseas students
You are strongly encouraged to contact your own Ministry of Education or Education Department, who will have details of most funding schemes and who will be able to advise you of your own government's conditions for studying abroad. You should also contact the nearest British Council office in your own country, which will have details of scholarship schemes and provide information and advice on educational programmes and living in the UK.

If there is no British Council office, then contact the nearest British Embassy, High Commission or Consulate. There is additionally funding available from sources such as the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank and the European Commission, whom you should contact directly.
