Ciência sem Fronteiras Brazilian PhD studentships

The School of Biological and Chemical Sciences offers PhD studentships to Brazilian students in partnership with the Ciência sem Fronteiras - Reino Unido, Brazilian Scientific Mobility Programme.  

Ciência sem Fronteiras is a Brazilian Government scholarship programme which aims to send Brazilian students on PhDs to study in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and creative industries at top universities around the world.

Applicants must be Brazilian nationals and are required to have at least an upper second class degree and a masters degree in a related discipline from a top university anywhere in the world. 

Evidence of proficiency in English language skills is a requirement for all international students. Further information about English language requirements is available on our entry requirements page.

How to apply

  1. Contact the supervising academic by e-mail so that an informal discussion can be arranged. You will be asked to provide a CV and personal statement.
  2. When the academic has agreed to consider you for a place you will be required to  submit an application online.
  3. If you are successful we will give you an offer on the condition that you are given a funding award from Ciência sem Fronteiras.
  4. When you have received a conditional offer apply directly to Ciência sem Fronteiras.

Deadline for applications

Applications are accepted all year round to both Queen Mary and Ciência sem Fronteiras.
