The last stand? Ash trees under threat

Planet Earth Online talks to the School's Dr Richard Buggs and Jo Clark from the Earth Trust about the threat to Britain’s 80 million ash trees caused by the “apparently unstoppable” fungal disease, Chalara. Dr Buggs discusses genome sequencing of the ash tree. He explains that within the scientific community there has been huge enthusiasm for working together to combat the disease.
