Super fast seeing bees – research by Peter Skorupski and Lars Chittka

Published:

Dr Peter Skorupski and Professor Lars Chittka have found that bees see the world nearly five times faster than humans. The study was carried out at the Research Centre for Psychology at Queen Mary, where the team discovered the full colour vision of bees is barely affected by high-speed flight. Bees have the fastest colour vision of all animals, which helps them to forage as quickly as possible. The studies have been reported widely: Metro, RedOrbit, Lab Spaces, Science Daily, MSNBC and the Queen Mary news site.
