Published in Biochem. J., 1978, 171, 1-19; Eur. J. Biochem., 1977, 79, 1-9; Hoppe-Seyler's Z. Physiol. Chem., 1977, 358, 599-616; Proc. Natl Acad. Sci. USA, 1977, 74, 2222-2230.

Errata, etc.

Table 4, entries 7, 8 and 9

The 1978 Compendium page 211 noted:

The compounds named and illustrated are not the naturally occurring 1D isomers. Thus, for L read 1D throughout these entries. with a corresponding change in the structures shown in column 4.

Table 4, entry 9

The naturally occurring compound is the 4,5-bis(phosphate), not the 3,4-bis(phosphate) named and illustrated.

The 1992 Compendium page 265 reproduced corrected entries from the 1985 Newsletter (ref 1):

See Representative phospholipids involving diesterified phosphoric acid.

The 1992 Compendium page 265 reproduced from the 1980 Newsletter (ref 2) alternative names for entries 1 and 2 and a corrected name for entry 3:

See Comments on the nomenclature of phosphorus-containing compounds.
