EC 2.8.3.3

Accepted name: malonate CoA-transferase

Reaction: acetyl-CoA + malonate = acetate + malonyl-CoA

Other names: malonate coenzyme A-transferase

Systematic name: acetyl-CoA:malonate CoA-transferase

Comments: The enzyme from Pseudomonas ovalis also catalyses the reaction of EC 4.1.1.9 malonyl-CoA decarboxylase.
