Comments: The enzyme acts on multiple 3α-hydroxysteroids. Re-specific with respect to NAD+ or NADP+ [cf. EC 220.127.116.11, 3α-hydroxysteroid 3-dehydrogenase (Si-specific)]. Enzymes whose stereo-specificity with respect to NAD+ or NADP+ is not known are described by EC 18.104.22.1687, 3α-hydroxysteroid 3-dehydrogenase.
