TIGER Seminar - Calculating Feedback for the Masses

25 October 2018

Time: 1:00 - 2:00pm
Speaker: Mark Roberts, Academic lead for E-Learning at SMD
Venue: TBC

Mark Roberts, the academic lead for E-Learning at The School of Medicine and Dentistry (SMD), will be delivering a talk titled 'Calculating Feedback for the Masses.'

Competence with data is an important outcome for science students. This includes being able to interpret experimental data, including data that they make themselves. Practice and feedback on this is important, but starts to become time intensive as student numbers rise. This talk describes an approach of using excel to mark and provide feedback on calculations based on students practical data. This gives students rapid feedback on their calculations and allows marking time to be spent on the data interpretation rather than calculations. The implementation of this in a 2nd year module will be described along with potential options for future development.

We look forward to seeing you at the event!
