TIGER - Improving Graduate Outcomes

This workshop focusing on 'Improving Graduate Outcomes' will be the first Teaching Interest Group and Education Research (TIGER) workshop of the 2018/19 academic year.

The forum will present original research findings and summaries of the literature:

  • Rachel O’Callaghan & Greg Szulgit - The value of peer marking
  • Elke Vlemincx - Team-based learning: a blessing or a curse?
  • James Wilkinson - Getting students to be more active… and interactive
  • Sabita Menon - The ‘bolt-on AND embedded’ PDP model: personal development planning that works for students
  • Jayne Dennis - Metacognition: how academics think and how they teach students to think

Refreshments will be provided.

TIGER is a group and discussion forum for anyone actively involved in teaching, curriculum or education development at Queen Mary University of London. The main focus of TIGER is to support and share good teaching practice.

Enhancing the student learning experience is central to QMUL and TIGER provides a platform for academic staff to discuss the latest thinking in education, share best practice or simply listen to expert speakers.
